to let her be

come into play
see her swoon
under a pale December moon
the air thick with remembrance
resilient temperaments mince words
like leaves of peppermint
as you of many tunes resonate
climb the ivy trellis breaks the heart
and you an empty sigh
look up high beyond the night
where clouds a silky white chiffon
shine bright in the light of the sun
to Jupiter generous in his mirth
familiar shines the beautiful Earth
cool like water into wine
Apollo in his trusty ship take her on a trip
from his silver vessel see the angels wrestle
feast on milk and chocolate pretzels
speak telepathically
asteroids announce the arrival
flying across the Heavens in single file
all the while waiting for The Kingdom Of Heaven
in the year of our Lord
to answer our prayers to give
permission for remission a full recovery
to let her be well.

Amen

to share a world called home

to share a world called home
in our thoughts and in our hearts
may we not cower from any enemy
yet look to tomorrow with excitement and wonder
now is the summer of the time
to unwrap the present and be amazed
for it is a gift
worth everything
intrinsic truth the value
trust respect-virtues
peace prosperity treasures
good health and happiness-speaking volumes
our lives mutual realities
shooting stars streak across the sky
i will honor you my love
from the tip of my hat to the stars up above
i was waiting for you all my little elf life it’s true
the red compliments the blue
beacons shine through
to find you through the darkly nights
a shadow borrows secrets from the light
holding your hand upon the birth of the dawn
and here is where the beauty will unfold
in days to come beneath a sun so bold
to work and play are matters of the heart
i will always love you
revere you accept you
and keep on trying not to upset you
works in progress are a process
through success and crisis
we keep on keeping on
so grateful for our bond
and honey
that’s so much more
than a lot.

to the sea

inclement sky the wild cry
rain washes birds in flight
rages regardless of restless night

sun stunning golden glitter
runs through filmy clouds quicker
splattering  a flattering palette
stream with reckless rancor
pink hues expecting blues to blend
The Gods relentless choose to send
their fires transcend burnt orange
in a rush the angels blush as much
as cherubs may try to touch
to love oh love your graceful form
to ere may to offend
complexion pale under her veil
carrying roses to the sea
and i a lonely soul
suffer a grateful harmony.

twigs and straw

dragonfly thighs the size
of elephant eyes
wisdom as wise
as a sunrise
apple pies take the cake
with your life at steak
to break bread with you
inside your garden gate
and rule the day
as if it were our own
to call upon the energies
in wellness and in moan
is anybody home?
where heart and mind may rest
it happens that I long to be
with you forever blest
safe and warm newly born
in twigs and straw
inside our cozy nest.

twilight winter

she’s calm as a twilight winter
capturing stars glimmer
the timber of her voice richer
than a Goddess’s golden slippers
phantom fates relate to the grace of that chiseled face
alabaster stone honed from cheekbone to cheekbone
the roman nose flared nostrils proud
an angel shakes off the dust from a work in progress
to bless the trust of the process

fondly fought for finding common ground a lost art may suddenly be found
remarkable the sunsets call in colored salts and butters
read my lips spoken softly in your ear
the shell has found an ocean to rest awhile on the sandy knoll
if you could hear the ocean through a seashell
it would bring the loveliest of tears
a soft quiet humble moment swept away by the surge of the sea
since that moment you have been a part of me.

twins

star jeweled night the velvet sky
put under a hypnotic moon
streaks of light
gleaming reflections
shake the waters red and blue
to part the seas you are a part of me
although I am alone forlorn
for you I would capture destiny before the lions roar
to be without you is stardust gone to war
I remember you the years before I was born
when you were the field and I was the corn
when despair was rare and I your little lamb
when you were a woman and I was a man
as grateful as a hurricane to hear your voice
calling my name telling me how you’ve suffered
and I was wrong to be born a child of God
without my significant other.

urban ruin

spectacular sunsets
keep blazes hot
tequila shots find
the aroma of a Cuban
in urban ruin
grasping at the moon
swooning from the glow
where did you go
in the middle of the Morn
to find the day
almost gone
I hear you say
frenetic words that badger
as you panda to the crowd
the hopes I cannot bear
what is an animal
unconditional regard
obedient loyal true
wanting to please
me as well as you.

vitality

I can’t tell you how long it’s been
a year? a sphere to bear like bowls of figs and pears
winter melon sweet wine why yes you are a friend
of mine to wrap around the hands of time
simply divine the peacock feathers blue as seas are too-men and women
with faces of the little children we once knew, growing up is hard to
do, as little more than
Heaven maybe pure, experience will close some doors
but alas the past is past to dwell there is a fantasy
fantastic surreal life is healing the crutches of reality,
in an inexplicable vitality
yet with all my heart candidly
love and be loved tenderly
as you go along merrily.

waterfall

she waded in a clear cool pool
over the slippery moss covered rocks and stones
wet velvet to the touch and to the toes
sweet subtle soothing sweeping as softly speaking air fell and rose
trickling down her back the water bead flows
as the wind secretly blows
seduced by the feeling of calm she continued on
and standing straight and tall
escaping the hot sultry sun she sang beneath a waterfall
shimmering in cold wistful splendor wet skin gleaming from the rapture
nature pouring with a power and a promise of never ending
in solitude she stood and never bending washed away her tears with
the current sure and pounding from the hillside cracks it carried
a torrent of memories through the earth and jagged crannies
where wild flowers drink their fill
the dewy grass is married to the mud
as above the rushing water is in love
little baby turtles sing in tune
to crickets back and forth while lilies bloom
and mother birds swoop down to take a drink
and nibble soundlessly on berries blue and pink
snakes like vines swim silent under the great splash
the girl lowers her body slowly down into the water
licked into laughter by the willowy reeds and grass
the falling water ever steady in its pace
bubbling the reflection of her woman-childs face
on the wet hot banks two tireless rabbits run their race
and here is just that little piece of heaven on the earth
where sun and sky float on by with cloudy puffs
hugging at the new moon in a gently fine embrace
tugging at the young maidens need to wash the sand off from her feet
to climb up to the rocky reach and don her gown of string and lace
for evening has begun-the sun has dipped behind the hilltop wall
and walking home she hums a song to the gushing sound
of the waterfall.

white wagon

white wagon
beauty in performance
streamline
get me there
and back again
on time
leather comfort
bells and whistles
honk the horn like trumpets
the old girl sings
not bad
in chasing rainbows
and other things
wild abandonment
meant for you
i go to purchase rings
my queen-dom for horse-power
charging on all cylinders
taking every curve and corner
like an athlete
effective and with nerve
sensuous self-fulfilling prophecy
delivered and well served
smooth sailing down the avenue
with engines hardly heard
a quickened pace of passer-bys
they all seem so reserved
the windows steamy from hot snow
and ice so cold it burns
yet i am in an afterglow
beautiful white wagon beaming so
delightful little auto
taking me along for the ride
so happy to be in my
little white wagon
inviting you to ride
with me
through a life-time
by my side.
