• a little while longer

    stay on the earth plane
    a little while longer
    madrigal phantom
    canyon hills gather beginnings
    endings fill the filament
    lament the will i met

    ointment rub away sorrow
    without you in tomorrow
    unkempt medusa
    rude enthusiasm sought the seeker
some truth a pot of lies
an artists proof an angel cries

see the parting of the ways
    form a more perfect union
    arrays of new ones
    along the palisades-
bathe in a glade down streams
    self consciousness gray the greens

    pity how she bleeds
    without that special someone-
    wife Mother Earth
the stormy affair of her life’s work
    stillness walk in silence
    encourage benevolence

    sayer in troubled southern skies-
    through skirting issues
    tissues and a cane
    rebel cause the second came
    doubtful discriminations
    alter egos enflaming flames

    fire burn bright yellow
    flicker whiskey sours
    past partaken
    mistaken identity
there is a better you in me
    someone I long to see
who has a thing for spring

    purple pleasantries
    swipe the card of plenty
    tell me when you’re ready
to the tune of a medley
    swoon the moon overwhelming
    the tide rushes very

    deep within the sea belly
    beauty of a whale
    may catch her tail
    her little calves running
    through wind tossed waves
    strewn prawn
    sea turtles seaweed jellyfish

    storms to coast the calm
    red flags reserve to warn
    floods flash reservoirs
    seasick senses surface
    race to rocky shores
    where seagulls swear and soar.

  • close the eyes of sleep

    silent rain
    calm a quiet blinding ache
that settles on the earthy plain
    bought the cost that came
    the right of every turn
    intuitive memory
    the enemy misunderstood
    the countless rescue
    deny the rash of thoughtlessness
has you down and out again
    to pen a mosaic moray
    in a way offering serenity
    honor with dignity
    the fruits of the orchard
    the harvest here upon us
baked apple pies will warm us
    angel cakes with sugared crust
when summer days adored as much
yet now for autumn calls us
    breaking bread will cure us
give thanks to God and more
    the answer is the core
    the center of it all
where nights are like a door
to close the eyes of sleep
and catch the tears that weep
to sweep the hands of time
    for something deep
in the middle of a most enchanted dream
I give you hugs and kisses
    with love and many wishes
as there are fishes in the ocean
    and as many boats
to float in the lap of caps
    harbor great hope
the sky holds a million stars
to shine across this world of ours.

  • end of summer

    crickets converge echoing
    an ecological convention
    as if an intervention
    click through grass and weed
    a brassy sounding tempo
    another night to tempt
    contentment
    rose over the compartment
    in a racket
    discreetly crackle
    thighs rub looking for grub
    ingesting flys bugs
    nightly mayhem
    to send a message
    little insects interject their interest
    under the plunder of
    moon filled wonder
    at the end of summer.

  • His Will

    sustenance
stem a pitcher of ice water
    extend an hour glass form
clear as rain from translucent sky
angels try to catch their mindful arcs
listen to the sound of hawks as smooth moons glisten
currents abrupt wind pulls from a distance
into vast pools cast a world magnificent
    humbles introspection
need not hesitate God is great to win His love exceptional
negate poison reiterate storms of reason
rekindle the heart a warming symbol
to appreciate the time it takes
by starlight breaks for heaven’s sake
    a sign inclined to signal
    the appropriate associated mingle
in the middle of a malleable festivity
    to gain kindred kind

I love you more than I love myself
it’s not myself I wish to spare
it is you lovely angel prepares
despair is a rarity in your makeup
    charity tells me your view
    Chabad the reservation
    a temple in the trees
in silent prayer I meditate on these
    whatever frees won’t kill
may God bless us with His Will
this time upon the Earth of love and peace.

    Happy New Year.

    Amen.

  • where we walked

    to love so much
    would make you weary
    a pearl in the shell
    to dwell in the heart
    of resource
deeply felt the depth of help
    a walk with wonder
    from last glance of summer
    raise the tumblers
    reflections of great feeling
    mirrored by give and take
if not for the light a heart might break
    to see the vulnerable dawn
    escape the invinsible night
    birds take flight
    to the irrepressable sky
the sun expands in waves and bands
    to touch God’s hands
in ocean sands as white and pure
    as golden waters implore
    east coast friendly town
    where we walked before
    a kind safe harbor found.

  • prism

    the hope of borrowed moments
may fill a heart with torments
    the little deaths that wreck
    your breath for clarity intolerant
    whisper sweet solace
    tell me you are honest
    in melodious abandon
    the most wonderful wisdom
as clear as the planes on a prism
hear bells ringing the singing of
    little faeries winging
see a seabird in flight to bring
    a peaceful night
    write a song of longing
    for beautiful bright morning
at the threshold of the dawn
i pray you will stay and not be gone
    as a mother gives birth
so must a child let go.

  • calls to beckon

    grapple
    “push-pull”
    enorvating
    walk for miles
    stars glue
    to the constructive sky

    analyze invert
    stride paths
    the pathological embrace
    to goad the heard
    hanging onto their every word

    discover the pearl
    without a wicked world
to seeth outcast out of reach
    seize to capture me
    captsize you at sea

    exemplary great monarch
    butterflies fly free
freezing on a beach in winter
    gray day gray overcoat
    black cap brimming no sunning
    sing soothing songs
    rejoice in the camrederie
    shine your ability
    grit a homily

    answer calls to beckon
    lessons learned are welcome
    pinch of salt expressions
    won’t get us to Heaven
    unless they come with directions

direct attention to the bread unleavened
    we the people
    like our Peligrino with lemon
    tempt fate read tarot
in the fight to stay alive pursue the dawn
without your love i am gone
gone out of mind forever long

    longing for short-cuts
    a bandage for a bruise
    color me black and blue
in regard to taking it hard
    when i lose
paintings poems friends of bluest hue
    true friends need hugs
as rivers feel the rapids ever race
    to find a waterfall
    a flower in a vase

to catch a gush upon a blushing face
enter into a state of grace
as ever was a peace to put in place
children succeed when they are safe

    if grownups never grow up
    they hurt and cannot heal
    in fantasy the dragon slain
the air is fresh and clear

    everyone is dear to love
    the sun in summer sets
    the beauty of it’s timelessness

    reality is meant
to pay the rent and earn your debt
a hard hard place to get
to have it all or lose it
whom of us would choose it?

speak words of love like cello music
    a flute like a memoir
    soft in sweet harmony
    marry the magical monastical
    moved to tears
    fantastical dreams in homage.

  • a hungry place

    the sun shining
    amber as maple syrup
    sticking to twig and stick
    grateful to be able
    in the years of fable
    blindly going forth
    waiting for a renascence
    fine art at your table
since first you cradled a ladle
and I the lady with a bagel
    promise anything
but give her salami and cheese
while you whip up your liver pâté
    in FILO dough you know
would be as smooth as Peter Pan
    but then
the world is a hungry place
    but I grew up
    with broiled lamb chop
    all over my face
    and there was nothin’ finer
    than Queenie’s apple pie
    second helpings on my plate
date nut bread covered in cream cheese a fave
we didn’t know how to run the
    microwave
    meat would come out gray
my Twinkie for a Hostess cupcake!
to thine own Milky Way be true
I wanted food all the time
    I couldn’t get enough
    it was my significant supper
    i guess that’s why I love you
    like a Jewish mother.

  • wind

    whisper rushing water
    birds glide air currents
    the bluff barks rough
    long grasses golden hay flattened
marsh in the harsh of winter
a heart in the middle of the day
    wispy thickets lisping
    blown biting bully muddy earth
    sandy soil loosens stones running
    shocks the rocks bolder
    under sensitive sky
    massive clouds hung low
in the dirt felt the debt to hold
winds fickle forces come and go
with the strength of a mind spring
    rain crushing the pines
    bent torn
    sending storms
    foliage overgrown thrash thrown
    winds groan
    nature’s warning growl
    a departure
    sun fires bright
    till then darkest night
when the moon ascends to prowl.

  • where nothing grieves

    polite moon-lit summer eve
    sense serene leaves rustling
    tender animals of the forest
    forage food mildly

    abundance sing bird in grasses
chip monk squirrel feed their need
on juicy stem an endless weed

in solitude nature proves to ponder
as slow the raccoon go to find a drink
possum play where stalk is thick
lily pond to wade the wild grass
no light when night is black as ink

    but for stars
    before a tempestuous dawn
has your heart forsworn a swooning moon

in gentle circles swim the loon
rare birds fly in pairs to sea
wild duck ignite a drunken cry
all the love the beauty in your eye

    end remorse with nature
    wind through pine and evergreen
shake the laughter out of trees
    fall the leaves
    where nothing grieves.
